insomnia

Insomnia whilst pregnant and nursing a 17 month old is no joke. It sucks and makes for one tired and CRANKY mama. That is all. I am too tired to write anything else.

  2. Hiya,

I've just read a little of your blog. I think you'll find this website of help: www.cheeseslave.com. Her article on magnesium deficiency is so helpful, especially for sleep. I run a hot bath with 2 cups of epsom salts and sit in it for at Least 12 mins. It's great.

Also, I wondered if you had heard for the GAPS diet?

  3. ...just read a little more of your blog and thought I'd add some background to my post. I'm 27, breastfeeding my 7 month old, and have just discovered a new way of eating and weaning my little son. That being raw milk, healthy animal fat and good grass fed meat and eggs. Along with this i've discovered I too have a candida yeast infection. So i've been doing the full GAPS (Gut and psychological syndrome) diet, which links guts problems to be the root cause of brain problems such as depression and autism. Very interesting and worth a read.

The diet is hard to explain. It's basically no refined anything, lots of good fats, bone broth, and grain free. But you can have sour dough and more (like dairy and even chocolate) once your guts has healed. The problem is as you heal, the candida and toxins die into the blood stream which gets into the breast milk...so that's why i've been doing epsom salt baths as the 'die offs' are shed into the water instead.

I have been researching these things a lot, and would like to share more if you are interested?

  4. thanks Natasha! I was doing a very similar diet until I got pregnant and the morning sickness kicked in and made me only want everything I shouldn't eat! :(

I have heard of cheeseslave and the GAPS diet and hope to get back into it once the sickness GOES AWAY!! lol (I was not this sick with my first).

I have epsom salts, maybe I'll take a little bath tonight- thanks for the tip!

And way to go on the breastfeeding :) :) :)

  5. I remember morning sickness. Not fun. The thing that I am going to try with my next pregnancy (way way in the future) is a tsp of Apple cider vinegar, neat or diluted first thing!? It's rumoured to help, but as I didn't know it at the time, I can't promise it will!

    Enjoy your bath...

  6. My bath was lovely :) Thanks! I slept "ok" last night. I listened to some hypontising thing on my phone and then fell asleep. I woke up a few times but was able to fall right back to sleep! progress! haha
